Roadworks on Cuba Street news - nights of Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th April

From the folks at Fulton Hogan

I’m contacting you in regards to some upcoming road resurfacing we have planned for Cuba Street, on the section between Vivian Street and Abel Smith Street.

Some of you may recall we did some maintenance work to the kerb, channel, and footpath a little while ago, and that was in preparation for the road resealing. Unfortunately, we had to delay the resurfacing last year, but the time has now come.

Closure

There will be a lane closure on Vivian Street past the Cuba Street intersection and a Resident Access Only closure in place by the Abel Smith Street intersection.

This mean there will be no access to through traffic except or people who live in the work area. Access to residences and business will always be available, but there will be some delays.

Times and dates

This closure will be in place from 8pm – 5am. We are doing this work at night to maximise the safety on pedestrians and cyclists whilst also minimising the impact on a lot of businesses and traffic flows.

Unfortunately, this does mean that all parking in the work area will be removed so we have access to the whole carriageway. Emergency Services will be given access at all times.

Our work is scheduled to take 2 shifts and these are currently planned for the nights of Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th April.

Please advise anyone and everyone who you think may need to see it and distribute it far and wide. The more people that know, the better.
